collaboration

With filmmaker Aggie Ebrahimi Bazaz and Docstorymaking students at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, 2018.

Storytelling and documentary are inherently collaborative endeavors.  Working with colleagues at Muhlenberg, Lafayette College, and Lehigh University to imagine new spaces and possibilities for documentary expression in the Lehigh Valley continues to be one of the most meaningful experiences in higher education leadership in nearly two decades in the Lehigh Valley. In 2015, we founded the LVAIC Documentary Storymaking minor. More about that program and work created by students, educators and artists in the program can be found here: http://docstorymaking.com/ .

HYPE youth media at Muhlenberg College.

Since 2006, together with Jenna Azar and Tony Dalton, we’ve been partnering with community organizations and schools to co-create exciting new opportunities for students to learn and explore digital media tools, deepen their learning, amplify their voice, and cultivate the critical and imaginative skills that are key to their success as learners and as citizens in our community. HYPE was initially funded through a grant from the Dorothy Rider Pool Trust and more recently has benefited from generous grants from The World We Want Foundation, The Trexler Trust, and The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.
